Control Rice Sheath Blight with RICHTOWN

Rice is a very important crop worldwide, with roughly half of the world population, particularly in East and Southeast Asia, relying on rice as a staple food. 95% of the world’s rice crop is consumed by humans. More than 90% of the world’s rice is grown in Asia, with major producers including China, India, Indonesia, and Bangladesh. While Asia dominates rice production, warm areas in Africa, Europe, the Americas, and Oceania also successfully grow rice.
The cultivated rice plant is an annual grass that grows to about 1.2 meters (4 feet) in height. Its leaves are long and flattened, borne on hollow stems, and its fibrous root system often spreads broadly. The panicle, or flower cluster, consists of spikelets bearing flowers that produce the grain. The main growth stages of rice are germination, leaf development, tillering, stem elongation, booting, heading, fruit development, and ripening.

In hot areas, such as the Philippines, rice can be cultivated all year round, and it is possible to grow up to three crops annually. The wet season typically spans from May to October. It's important to note that the last quarter of the year coincides with the typhoon season. Therefore, it is recommended to finish harvesting before October to avoid potential typhoon-related damage.
In China, the plains of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River are the main grain-producing areas. The effective accumulated temperature in the Yangtze River basin allows for the cultivation of two crops of rice each year, with some areas sometimes having three crops, but this is seldom.
Rice growing is labor-intensive and challenging due to various pests and diseases that can affect crop yield and health. Rice blast, sheath blight, and false smut are the top three diseases that can cause severe damage to rice worldwide. Additionally, the brown plant hopper (BPH) and stem borer can also impact yield.
For rice blast and sheath blight control, Sunjoy Agro recommends using Richtown (Difenoconazole 125g/L + Azoxystrobin 200g/L SC), a broad-spectrum fungicide effective against important diseases. Difenoconazole (a triazole fungicide) plus Azoxystrobin (a strobilurin fungicide) provide outstanding protective and curative effects, as well as good systemic activities with long residual activity. It provides reliable control against anthracnose, leaf spot, powdery mildew, downy mildew, and rust on various crops. In addition, Richtown can improve crop quality and yield, resulting in fruit surfaces with no disease spots and more uniform, while also increasing stress tolerance to unfavorable environmental conditions.
The photo below was taken in Jiangxi Province in 2017, after two sprays of Richtown (dulition rate 750x-1000x). The Richtown-treated rice showed less impact from sheath blight and grew stronger compared to standard farming practice, with control efficacy exceeding 90% and higher yields.
