Biocontrol Solutions

We believe innovation is the answer to today’s agricultural challenges.

Sunjoy Agro is ready to offer a new pipeline of biological products for crop protection after years of research.

People say biological is the future, but chemical is the foundation. Well, Sunjoy Agro is exceptional on both fronts.

Our novel biocontrol solutions will unlock the new potential to fight against pest insects and pathogens along with the conventional agrochemicals. Together, the fortified solutions will enhance food production and farmer profitability.

As a supplementary treatment to chemical controls, our biological solutions have a list of merits:

  • Tank-mix safe with chemicals to ensure broad-spectrum protection with target-specific control.
  • Compatible with beneficial insects.
  • Low risks of tolerance development or cross resistance.
  • Eco-friendly and produce a negligible amount of toxic residue.
  • Advance in formulation technology to promote product stability and prolongs shelf life.

Metarhizium anisopliae

Metarhizium anisopliae (Clavicipitaceae, M. anisopliae) has played a significant role in the control of many agricultural pests, such as grasshoppers and locusts, and human disease vectors, such as mosquitos. M. anisopliae infects and kills susceptible hosts by penetrating the cuticle directly.

Paenibacillus polymyxa

Paenibacillus polymyxa (Paenibacillus, P.polymyxa) is a spore-forming, Gram-positive bacterium. Bacteria of the genus Paenibacillus are widely distributed in nature. P.polymyxa can produce a variety of available metabolically active substances such as peptides, proteins and polysaccharides. There are two main applications of P.olymyxa in agriculture, which are promoting plant growth as a microbial fertilizer and preventing plant diseases as a biological pesticide. P.polymyxa has a certain control effect on various plant diseases such as plant verticillium wilt, chickpea wilt, rape rot, and black pine root rot.

Trichoderma

Trichoderma (Hypocreaceae) exists widely in soil under different environmental conditions. Most Trichoderma can produce a variety of biologically active substances that have antagonistic effects on plant pathogenic fungi, bacteria and insects, such as cell wall degrading enzymes and secondary metabolites. It also can improve the stress resistance of crops, promote plant growth and improve agricultural products. Therefore, it is widely used in biological control, biological fertilizer and soil conditioner. Trichoderma can control many plant diseases, such as cabbage black rot, tomato bacterial wilt, vegetable blight, rice sheath blight, and wheat sharp eyespot. It also can directly kill the root knot nematodes and underground pests in the roots and soil of crops, and eliminate the surface bacteria and pests.
