Control Weeds in Peanut Field by SOLGAIN
Herbicide
The weed problem in peanut fields has become increasingly severe, particularly narrow weeds such as crabgrass and barnyard grass, as well as broadleaf weeds like redroot pigweed and copperleaf. These weeds compete with peanuts for nutrients, water, and sunlight, while also serving as hosts for pests and diseases, leading to yield losses, with total crop loss in extreme cases.
SOLGAIN (Fluoroglycofen-ethyl 18% + Haloxyfop-p-methyl 12% EC) is a highly effective herbicide specifically designed for weed control in peanut fields. Fluoroglycofen, a PPO inhibitor, effectively controls broadleaf weeds, while Haloxyfop-P-methyl, an ACCase inhibitor, provides excellent control of grassy weeds. The combination offers comprehensive weed management, extended residual activity, and reduced application frequency.
A field trial was conducted on peanut field in Ningbo, Zhejiang on March 26th, 2025. The experimental area was sprayed with SOLGAIN and Quizalofop-P-ethyl 20% EC, diluted 2000 times and 500 times, respectively. The mixture achieved 75.1%-98.0% control of narrow weeds (crabgrass and barnyard grass) and 85.7%-90.0% control of broadleaf weeds (redroot pigweed and copperleaf), with residual activity exceeding 28 days.
SOLGAIN proves to be an ideal herbicide for weed control in peanut field, offering high efficacy, fast action, long residual activity, and excellent crop safety.
In the treated plots, weeds were completely dead within 9 days after application.
After 28 days, the treated area remained highly effective with no weed regrowth. In contrast, the untreated control plots showed dense weed infestations that towered over peanuts.
