Control Apple Anthracnose by GOLLYNON
Fungicide
Apple is one of the most widely grown, productive, and popular fruits in the world. Its quality has a direct impact on the economic development of the apple plantation industry. However, various diseases cause a decline in apple quality and yield, directly harming the development of the agricultural economy.
Apple anthracnose, also known as bitter rot, is a fungal disease that impacts apple production. It causes sunken lesions on apples, leading to decay and reduction in quality. The infected fruit cannot be sold on the market, resulting in severe economic losses for apple growers who cannot control the disease.
To manage apple anthracnose, there are several cultural practices that growers should follow. Firstly, remove sources of pathogens. Growers should prune affected branches and fruits, bury them deeply or burn them away from the orchard. Secondly, enhance nutrient management. Growers should develop a fertilization plan based on the age of apple trees and their nutrient requirements throughout the growth cycles. Lastly, use chemical controls. Sunjoy Agro recommends the use of GOLLYNON for foliar spraying before disease symptoms are visible. GOLLYNON (Pyraclostrobin 120g/L + Dithianon 360g/L SC) is a fungicide that has a synergistic activity to control anthracnose.
In 2023, researchers from Sunjoy Agro conducted experiments to control apple anthracnose in Yantai, Shandong Province. They found that orchards where GOLLYNON was used had no occurrence of apple anthracnose, and the leaves were lush green, with beautiful fruits. In contrast, orchards managed by farmers themselves had many fruits showing signs of anthracnose and poor coloration, affecting their appearance and marketability.
