Introduction to CARBBY

Fungicide

Sulfur has been used as a fungicide since the 18th century. Back then, sulfur-based inorganic compounds were the primary fungicides. The most famous one was the lime sulfur mixture, which was used to control powdery mildew.

With the development of technology, we have moved into an era of organic fungicides. Despite this, sulfur continues to be used in combination with other fungicides with diverse site-specific modes of action, which generally have high risks for resistance development. This helps to increase the controlling spectrum and lifespan of other products. Field resistance to sulfur has not been reported, most likely due to its multiple sites of action, although the precise modes of action remain unidentified.

For winter orchard care, growers often harvest fruits when the temperature is not too cold and then use loppers to prune every tree in the orchard. Pruning is an efficient method to remove overwintering pests, but it may cause wounds that pose potential danger. To address this concern, Sunjoy Agro recommends using Carbby (Sulfur 80% WDG) for orchard care in winter. Applying the product to the wounds can promote healing. Furthermore, spraying the sulfur solution in the orchard can effectively repel overwintering mites and kill pathogens like aeciospores. This will ensure the fruit trees remain in good condition throughout winter and boost the orchard's yield next year.
