As spring arrives and the world begins to recover, the farming season also begins. One of the most important steps in orchard management is clearing the garden during the fruit tree planting process. This lays a strong foundation for the later harvest of the year.
Clearing the garden is a crucial agricultural operation in orchard management. To maintain a good crop growth environment, farmers usually clear the garden either after crop harvest (in late winter) or just before the bud development (in early spring). During this stage, farmers would get rid of the corpses and husks of the old growth, prune trees and branches, and spray some pesticides to kill or suppress the pest population. In the past, people used chemicals like Bordeaux mixture and lime sulfur. Although these chemicals were cheap and could inhibit the growth of pathogens and insects, they were not safe for young crop tissues, and their mixability was poor.
Sunjoy Agro has launched Carbby (Sulfur 80% DF) as an alternative to lime sulfur for garden clearing. Unlike traditional lime sulfur mixture, Carbby is highly safe for crops and easy to use. Carbby is a broad-spectrum fungicide that is highly effective in controlling diseases and insects. The product is registered against powdery mildew and scab. In addition to killing pathogens from the orchard, Carbby can also eradicate overwintering eggs and adults of aphids, scales, and other pest insects. Spraying Carbby can help reduce disease and insect occurrence during the crop growth stage, making it an essential solution for reducing production costs and saving labor.
Grapes are a significant crop in China and are widely grown in Central American countries like Peru and Europe. Grapes can be eaten fresh or used for wine-making. Clearing the garden before the grape bud development is crucial in grape cultivation. During this stage, the main target should be leaf bugs, scale, and some other pests. Sunjoy Agro recommends spraying the entire garden with Carbby with 300-500 times dilution rate. In case of high pest pressure, we suggest using Carbby mixture with Chlorpyrifos 45% EC with 1000 times dilution rate, along with Propargite 73% EC with 2000 times dilution rate as a comprehensive spray solution.
