Control Grape Downy Mildew by ROWSONG

Fungicide

Grapes (Vitis) are botanically classified as berries. There are about 60 to 80 species of grapevines, which are native to the northern temperate zone. These species include varieties that can be eaten as table fruit, dried to produce raisins, or crushed to make grape juice and wine. Grapes are usually grown as woody vines that climb using tendrils, which are modified branches. Grapes have a rich history, with cultivation dating back around 8,000 years.

The main grape-growing countries are Peru, Chile, the Netherlands, South Africa, Italy, the USA, China, and Spain, collectively accounting for 80% of the total grape yield worldwide.

Grapes belong to the category of perennial woody plants. A grapevine takes about 3-4 years to produce a good crop of viable grapes. The annual grapevine growth cycle consists of several stages:

  • Dormancy stage: The winter months are important for the grape growing cycle, as growth and development temporarily stop, and the vine rests. Pruning and training of the vine are two of the most important agronomic operations for quality grape production;
  • Bud swelling: Tiny buds on the vine start to swell;
  • Leaves development: As the mean temperature rises, growth accelerates and shoots elongate;
  • Flowering stage: Grapevine flowers are born in a cluster. When conditions are favorable, the flowers typically bloom for eight to ten days, followed almost immediately by the fruit set stage;
  • Fruit development: The Initial period of growth is rapid due to cell division and enlargement. The grape berries start off green and hard, and enlarge rapidly. They contain little sugar and high levels of organic acids;
  • Ripening of berries: The ripening stage begins when berries soften and color changes;
  • Harvest: Finally, the grapes are harvested when they have reached the desired ripeness.

Downy mildew is a highly destructive disease of grapevines in all grape-growing areas of the world, particularly where spring and summer rainfall occurs. Sunjoy Agro recommends using Rowsong (Cymoxanil 56% + Cyazofamid 14% DF) at a diluted rate of 1500 - 3000 times.

Rowsong has many benefits for both crops and customers:

1. High concentration of active ingredients;

2. Two active ingredients in a perfect ratio, providing maximum synergy effect (Cyazofamid: Cymoxanil=1:4);

3. Excellence in preventative and curative activity, with both quick-acting and long-residual activities that inhibit all stages of oomycete fungus development;

4. Innovative low-temperature dry flowable technology enables particles to disintegrate quickly in water and have a wider and more uniform coverage after spray, with high control efficacy.

In 2023, Sunjoy Agro conducted field trials in Liao Ning Province to test the control efficacy of Rowsong against grape downy mildew. 7 days after the second application, the control efficacy still exceeded 95% (see photos below)
