Control Eggplant Whiteflies by PRIXYFEN
Insecticide
Eggplant whiteflies are among the most challenging pests to control. These tiny, sap-sucking insects not only weaken plants by depriving them of vital nutrients but also transmit viral diseases, further exacerbating crop losses. Their rapid reproduction rates, with females capable of laying hundreds of eggs in their lifetime, can lead to explosive population growth. Traditional insecticidal approaches, often relying on a single mode of action, struggle to keep pace with these prolific pests, resulting in suboptimal control and increasing resistance concerns.
Sunjoy Agro’s PRIXYFEN 310 SE ® combines the strengths of two active ingredients: Acetamiprid and Pyriproxyfen, both of which work synergistically to control a wide range of insect pests. Acetamiprid is a neonicotinoid that acts on the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the nervous system of insects, leading to paralysis and death. On the other hand, Pyriproxyfen is a juvenile hormone analog that disrupts the molting and reproductive processes of insects, hindering their maturation and reproduction. The insecticide is suitable for various crops and effectively controls a wide range of pests, including aphids, whiteflies, leafhoppers, thrips, and scale insects. The suspension emulsion formulation ensures excellent stability and compatibility with water, resulting in superior coverage and uptake of the active ingredients.
When applied as a 1000-1600x dilution, this product delivers a powerful dual impact on whiteflies, with Acetamiprid providing rapid knockdown and Pyriproxyfen ensuring long-term suppression by impeding the pest's reproductive cycle. Timing of application is critical. Ideally, treatments should align with the early stages of infestation or as part of a preventative schedule to intercept the pest proliferation. Thorough coverage of both upper and lower leaf surfaces is essential for optimal results.
