Control Banana Sigatoka by SYNGLO
Insecticide
Banana, a fruit from herbaceous plants of the genus Musa, is one of the most important tropical fruits traded globally. They can grow in a variety of environments, but thrive best in warm climates with daytime temperatures between 26–30°C and nighttime temperatures no lower than 20°C. Moreover, humidity level should be at least 50%.
In Pacific regions, bananas are highly valued and serve as a source of food, beverages, sugars, medicines, flavorings, and more. Although they are mainly consumed locally in the Pacific regions, bananas have a significant export market worldwide, with the United States and European Union being the major buyers.
Bananas come in various sizes and colors when ripe, including yellow, purple, and red. Most production focuses on green cooking bananas and plantains, while dessert bananas are easily damaged during transport. Bananas are a rich source of vitamin B6, vitamin C, and potassium.

Sigatoka is a leaf spot disease that can infect bananas during their growth stage. It is a significant banana disease that causes economic losses in many countries worldwide. Severely infected leaves can die, reducing fruit yield and causing mixed and premature ripening.

Sunjoy Agro recommends using SYNGLO (Pyraclostrobin 160g/L + Tebuconazole 320g/L SC) to control the banana Black Sigatoka. The formulation has both protective and curative effects, and it can improve fruit quality and yield. Tebuconazole blocks the synthesis of ergosterol, which is an important component of fungi cell membranes. Pyraclostrobin inhibits mitochondrial respiration by preventing electron transfer between cytochrome B and C1. The fungicide is safe for crops, provides long-lasting protection, and is resistant to rain erosion.
In 2009, Sunjoy Agro conducted a field trial in Nanning Guangxi to control Black Sigatoka disease in bananas using SYNGLO. The photos below show the difference between the banana leaves treated with SYNGLO and the farmer’s standard treatment. After 2-3 sprays of SYNGLO at a dilution rate of 2000x, banana leaves became stronger and healthier than the other group. They developed a thick waxy layer and were less susceptible to Sigatoka infection. The control efficacy of Synglo (2000x) was over 90%.
